Purpose:

The Trade Desktop enables you, as an Advance Electrical Wholesale account holder, to access your account details and prices. Keep your login secure - others may otherwise log in and see your account data!  If you feel your login has been compromised, please ask an Advance Electrical Wholesalers staff member to change the login to your account.

• Up to date pricing, stock file and payable invoice file downloads.
• Preparation of your customer quotes, estimates and invoices.

Recommendation:

• In this order we suggest -
• Be VERY cautious about installing updates if your machine is not stable.  The outcome is likely to be negative.
• Make system backups before installing updates and applications.

• Fully scan your system with a quality and updated AntiVirus application.
• Clean reboot your system.
• Disable AntiVirus application whilst updating / installing applications.

Prerequisites:

• You must obtain a User ID and Password from your Advance Electrical Wholesale branch.
• You must have Administrator rights to remove and install programs stored on your local PC.

Program Requirements:

• You must have installed Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0  . Note - This MS package requires supported operating systems: Windows 2000 (Service Pack 3); Windows 98; Windows 98 (Second Edition); Windows ME; Windows Server 2003; Windows XP (Service Pack 2).
  Also
  o Windows Installer 3.0 (except for Windows 98/ME, which require Windows Installer 2.0 or later). Windows Installer 3.1 or later is recommended.
  o IE 5.01 or later: You must also be running Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or later for all installations of the .NET Framework.
• Access to remote Internet port 80 through any firewall.

Finally! - Install the application:

1. the latest version of the Trade Desktop Installer file. 
   
2. If you are downloading the program, Left click the Run button on the File Download dialog window.
3. Left click the Run button on the security warning dialog window.
   The Trade Desktop Wizard will now appear.
   • If this is the first time to download the software, left click the Next button.
     You will need to do this three times as you move through the wizard.
   • If you are upgrading the software, choose the Repair radio button and left click the Finish button.
4. Finally left click the Close button on the Installation program.
   Your desktop will now contain a Trade Desktop (TD) icon.
5. Double click the Trade Desktop (TD) icon.
6. When logging into TradeDesktop for the first time, enter the Advance Electrical Wholesale web address (listed at the bottom of this page in red). Then enter the Database - (ALSO listed at the bottom of this page in red)
7. If you only have the one account and do not wish to login every time, check the Remember Me box.
8. Checked the "Remember Me" box and wish to remove this option?: My Details|My Setup|"Reset Login Details" Button.
9. If you run behind a proxy server or firewall, fill in the boxes provided with your proxy server details to allow TradeDesktop to function through your firewall/proxy server.
